ASHES is a series of documentary photographs taken on a beach in Queensland of three ordinary Australian men who scatter their parent's ashes to sea. This work is a universal portrayal of siblings in time of their parents’ death, yet their lack of ceremony and typical bloke-ness is unmistakably Australian.
Mayu Kanamori is the creator and photographer for Ashes. Collaborating composer and ukulele musician is Yuka Yamamoto.
