Young's career may be characterized by a preoccupation with edginess, and a kind of post and silent voyeurism that betrays an empathy for and a fascination with life's edgy cultures.
This current work, often confronting, deals with a deeper exploration and observation about the creatures and subcultures within the wider community.

Often finding himself in less-safe and or amusing situations, Young describes that he feels a hypersensitivity in finding these locations and its remnants. The work has an intrinsic beauty, the use of organic shapes, sweeping lines and ascetic composition that both attract and repulse the viewer simultaneously.
Displayed in a framed pristine white board and without the protection of glass the viewer is made to feel less comfortable having no barrier between them and the confronting object. The works are displayed as either a repetition of the single object with a distinctive form or shape adding to the underlying text or as a single object thus focusing on the questions that remain.
