Mayu's 40th birthday was celebrated on 1 March 2003 in Sydney, Australia at the home of Setsuko Yanagisawa

Guests were asked to bring their art. A performance area was set up for dance, music, song, poetry readings, slides & an exhibition in floral design, while modelling moments provided an opportunity to try one's hand at live drawing. Throughout the evening a sculpture was created from found objects, hands flashed the digital glory of nail art, a delicate aroma arose from the Japanese tea ceremony corner & the queue to consult the tarot cards grew longer.

Artists were asked to contribute the art displayed or created, & any photographs taken on the evening to this site. Thank you all those who have done so. Despite threatened deadlines, your contributions are still welcome. If I did not find you online & you would like a link from your page or name, please send me the URL.

Some art which was not able to be presented on the evening, has been deemed to have been in spirit of the occasion & has been included - acts of murphy & the limitations of RT shall not prevail.
