The Meanjin Brisbane workshop invites artists and community members to participate in this project<\/strong>
\nand create an artwork that honours one of the civilian internees from Queensland.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Hear from Project Lead and artist\u00a0Mayu Kanamori to learn about the history of this
\nproject, then workshop creative ideas and research leads\u00a0with Nikkei Australia Chair
\nand artist Elysha Rei.<\/p>\n

Participants will each ‘adopt’ an internee to start creating an
\nartwork that includes their name. Finished artworks will need to\u00a0be completed and
\nsubmitted to the project by March 2025.<\/p>\n
