Cinema of Mind is a collaborative multi screen and audio work between Mayu Kanamori and Robert Young. It is an exploration into the human mind, brought to question and investigated through a collaborative process between two artists’ and a woman who is affected by mental illness. Diagnosed as a paranoid schizophrenic, our protagonist takes us through her daily life and candidly speaks to us about the contents of her mind. Her persona at first instance is normal. In many ways, her discourse resonates within us all as part of normal human existence. Yet something appears to be different, and we are left to wonder if the differences exist within the mind chatter of our protagonist or whether it exists within our interpretations.
